Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant has been an odd pair.
Like Helen of Troy, the face of Elizabeth Hurley could launch a thousand ships. And her body could cause a thousand auto accidents. Probably already has, with or without her revealing Versace gowns. Her beauty is admired worldwide; she represents Estée Lauder cosmetics. But beauty is only one of her many assets. She is also one of the most talented and brilliant women in the entertainment industry. She has produced and directed movies.
Hugh Grant? Well, he must be on another planet. It amazed the public that he would risk his relationship with Hurley by soliciting ordinary hookers on the streets of Los Angeles. And he was even dumb enough to get caught and make headlines with a mug shot of him. Hurley is a bona fide supermodel at the very pinnacle of her profession. Grant is an actor whose recent roles were in movies produced by---Elizabeth Hurley.
Well, after 13 often-stormy years, the two announced that they are splitting amicably. They were "engaged" for much of those 13 years but never married or set a wedding date.
As amazing as it is, you can actually understand their unusual relationship by utilizing the simple principles of Magi Astrology, especially the principle of Planetary Geometry.
Below is a CAC of their two birth charts. The black planets represent the positions of the planets when Hugh Grant was born and the red planets represent the positions of the planets when Elizabeth Hurley was born.
As you can see, Hurley and Grant's planets create a figure that looks like a square, and it is obviously symmetrical. Such a pattern is referred to as a Grand Cross. As explained in our third book, when two persons' charts form symmetrical patterns, it is a sign that the two persons can feel strongly drawn to each other. But this pattern is made up of Turbulent Angles, each of which is normally a sign of disharmony.
When the charts of two persons form a Grand Cross, it is a sign of extreme attraction. But a Grand Cross does not enhance compatibility or love. Cinderella Linkages are signs of love and compatibility and Hurley and Grant did not have any. Instead, they had a lot of Saturn Linkages (not drawn in the above CAC but Grant's Saturn is trine Hurley's Pluto and Uranus) and Saturn Clashes (three of them are drawn in the CAC above). As we explained in other parts of this website, Cinderella Linkages help hold relationships together and are reliable signs that two persons could marry; whereas the Nuclear Clash is an astrological sign that a relationship could eventually fall apart. In the case of Hurley and Grant, they had no Cinderella Linkages at all, and two Nuclear Clashes. So they never married and broke up.
